Art is something that tells a story, whether it be about the artist him/herself, humanity, the natural world around us, or a glimpse into the unknown. It appeals to all of our senses, and evokes feeling--curiosity, wonder, fear, sadness, love, hope. Art is created for a purpose--that is, to send some sort of message or impression to the audience--but the effect which it has upon each individual can differ in a multitude of ways.
